PhD Student (f/m/x) – Translational Metabolism Research
Poliklinik für Endokrinologie, Diabetologie und Präventivmedizin
TV-L: 38,5 h/week (100%)
limited for 3 years according to WissZeitVG within the framework of a third-party funded project
PhD positions are remunerated according to 65–75% of the TV-L E13 pay scale

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research group, focusing on the identification of physiological mechanisms underlying neurocognitive impairments and altered gut-brain interactions in metabolic disease. In the particular project, we are interested in understanding how dietary changes affect neural encoding of learning and motivation in. The Ph.D. student will work under supervision of Prof. Dr. Ruth Hanssen (Head of Research group Translational Metabolism Research, Policlinic for Endocrinology). The Research Group Translational Metabolism Research, led by Ruth Hanßen, investigates the interactions between the brain, metabolism, and environmental factors in the development of obesity and obesity-associated diseases, as well as the potential therapeutic value of these interactions for the development of novel treatments.
