We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our translational cardiovascular research group, focusing on atrial fibrillation and atrial cardiomyopathy. The project combines molecular, electrophysiological, omics-based and translational approaches to identify novel mechanisms and therapeutic targets for cardiac arrhythmias.

Ihre Aufgaben

Conduct an independent research project within an interdisciplinary collaborative team

Investigating the molecular, electrophysiological and metabolic mechanisms underlying atrial cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation

Conducting cellular electrophysiological experiments, including patch-clamp recordings in cardiomyocytes and heterologous expression systems, and contributing to the functional characterization of atrial ion channel regulation

Present and communicate research results at national and international scientific meetings

Ihre Qualifikationen

You are an enthusiastic and self-driven scientist with a strong interest in translational biomedical research, capable of working independently while actively contributing to a collaborative team environment

You have completed a BSc/MSc degree in a life science discipline, such as biomedicine, biochemistry, molecular biology, molecular medicine or a related field

You bring hands-on experience in cellular electrophysiology as well as common molecular and cell biology methods, including Western blotting, qPCR, cloning and cell culture

Initial experience in bioinformatics, data analysis or computational workflows is highly welcome

Fluency in English is required, German language skills are considered an advantage
