Postdoctoral position (f/m/d) in cell biology, immunology and molecular biology research
full time, 38.5 hours per week, minimum 2 years, potentially 5 years
Remuneration according to TV-L
The research group of Dr. Leon Hosang at the IMSF is inviting applications for a postdoc (f/m/d) in cell biology, immunology and molecular biology. Our research group at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) investigates the lung–brain axis, with a particular interest in how unique features of the lung shape both local and systemic immune responses, including immune regulation within the central nervous system. Our aim is to understand how these interactions contribute to the initiation, modulation and resolution of autoimmune neuroinflammation. Funding for this position is provided by the “UMG2032 - Excellence through Focus” project, funded by the State of Lower Saxony and the VolkswagenStiftung through the zukunft.niedersachsen program.

Conduct an independent research project in the emerging field of the lung-brain axis and its role in regulating of CNS autoimmunity
Establish new methods and models relevant to the project
Work collaboratively within an international and multidisciplinary team
Present and communicate research results at scientific meetings
Supervision of students
Your qualifications
Your qualifications
You are a curious and enthusiastic scientist who can work independently but also in a team
PhD in the life sciences, such as cell biology, neurobiology, immunology, molecular biology or a related subject
Experience working with rodent experimental models, with a qualification in accordance with FELASA guidelines
Fluent English language skills (written and spoken) are required
