Working at Charité

Our labs research ( is dedicated to uncovering how experiences transform neural activity. We focus on learning, the neural circuits and codes governing cognitive flexibility and social cognition and the disruption of cognitive processes in models of increased vulnerability to mental disorders. To address these questions, we use rodent models combined with advanced techniques such as large-scale electrophysiological recordings with Neuropixels probes, innovative behavioral paradigms, optogenetic perturbations, and advanced data analysis methods.

We are currently looking for a student assistant to support data curation and preprocessing. We are especially interested in candidates looking to continue with a Masters or Bachelor thesis in our group.

Overview of the position

Assisting with the curation/processing of experimental data, e.g. video and electrophysiological data

Management and maintenance of a GitHub repository

Occasional technical support with experimental setups, e.g. microcontroller-based electronics

What we are looking for

You are enrolled as a student (e.g. computational neuroscience, engineering, natural sciences, medicine, ...)

You have good programming skills in Python/Matlab

You are interested in solving technical problems

You have knowledge in neuroscience

You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner
